An underwater drone for professionals.
Having conquered the air, technology now looks the other way and takes us further down under the surface with the new underwater drone M2 from Chasing. Chasing introduced themselves as an exciting new company and pioneers in the underwater drone community with the Gladius Mini, a lightweight and affordable drone for enthusiasts. The time has now come for a professional underwater drone (ROV), the new M2. Chasing M2 is a lightweight underwater ROV/drone designed for professional users and industrial applications in mind. The design makes it great for hull and dock inspections, underwater constructions and search and rescue.
New features for the M2 are more and stronger motors, enhanced camera, improved image quality and the possibility to attach laser scales, robot claws or any other accessory up to 1,5 kg that will help you in your work. Despite its low weight of 4,5 kg, the M2 has an 8 vectored thrusters’ layout which allows OMNI movement in all directions. It can go up to 3 knots speed, dive down to 100 m and operate within 200 m horizontal radius. The thrusters are equipped with an anti-stuck motor technology to reduce the failure probability of the motor getting stuck in the sand. This allows the pilot to operate safely and reliable in all kinds of complicated underwater environments.
The M2 camera offers 4K video, a f/1.8 aperture and is equipped with a 1/2.3 Sony CMOS and electronic image stabilization which improves the camera’s low light performance and dynamic range greatly. The drone is also equipped with two dimmable 2000 lumens LED. Another new exciting feature is the new swappable battery. The M2 comes with a 99 Wh battery that gives a runtime of 2-4 hours. If you need a longer runtime, there is also a new 2000 Wh battery available (not included) which will extend the operational time remarkably. A feature that professionals have been longing for is the possibility to attach external gears to enhance the drone’s functions. The M2 is now compatible with sophisticated attachments such as robot claw, GoPro camera, external LED lights and laser scaler etc. The maximum attachable capacity is 1.5 kg and meets many of the industry demands.
